Young K. Sohn, Chair of the W3i Board of Governors
Young served as the President and CEO of Inphi Corporation from
2007 to 2012, and led Inphi's successful IPO in 2010. Prior to
joining Inphi, Young served as president of Agilent Technologies'
Semiconductor Group (now known as Avago Technologies), where he led
the successful turnaround of the company's semiconductor
operations. He also served as chair and CEO of Oak Technology, a
digital media semiconductor company, and as co-president of Quantum
Corporation, a data storage products manufacturer.
Young also managed Intel Corporations' Samsung-Intel strategic
partnership, and while there, started the company's PC chipset unit
and grew it to over $300M in revenue.
Mr. Sohn was an advisor to the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology Media Lab's OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) program from
2005 to 2007 and serves on the North America MIT Sloan School
Board. He currently serves on the board of directors
for ARM Holdings, PLC, Cymer, Inc. and several private
companies.
Mr. Sohn holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering
from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.S. degree from the MIT
Sloan School of Management.
